- Cortona is located 600m above sea level on the top of a hill planted with vineyards and olive groves.
- It is surrounded by ancient fortified walls, which means that nearly all new development has occurred
lower down the hill, leaving Cortona as a delightful mediaeval town with narrow twisting streets

- The high position of Cortona allows for a stunning view on the surrounding countryside. You can see
as far as the Lago di Trasimeno and at night lights sparkle from numerous little villages below.
- The town hall of Cortona is a 13th Century medieval Palace, with 16 century clock tower dominatingthe city’s main public square, Piazza della Repubblica.
- A flight of stairs leads up to the entrance under the clock tower.
- The wedding hall is adorned with beautiful frescoes and an elaborated wood beam ceiling. It has
beautiful Gothic style furniture, with medieval chandeliers and an impressive authentic stone fireplace.
- The ceremony is performed in Italian by the Mayor or one of his representatives and an interpreter
will translate the ceremony into English (this is required by law)
- Civil Ceremony lasts 20 –35 minutes
- The ceremony is lawfully binding and cannot be changed.
- During the ceremony it is possible to add personal readings and poems to the ceremony script.
- Music recommended: soft classical music from violinist, guitarist, vocal with string or guitar.
